LES I. SIEGEL, M.D., F.A.C.S.
Les I. Siegel, M.D., founder of
the Glaucoma Center of Michigan,
is an ophthalmologist specializing
in the consultation and treatment
of glaucoma and cataracts.
Born in Detroit, Dr. Siegel
attended Michigan State University
where he graduated with High
Honors while receiving his Bachelor
of Science in Physiology. He then
attended the Wayne State University
School of Medicine where he
received his M.D. with Honors.
He completed his internship at
William Beaumont Hospital in Royal
Oak, his ophthalmology residency at
the Kresge Eye Institute of Wayne
State University where he served as
chief resident and his glaucoma
fellowship at the Washington University School of Medicine and
Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.
Dr. Siegel is on the medical staff at
William Beaumont Hospital in Royal
Oak, Eye Surgery Center of Michigan
affiliated with St. John Hospital,
Detroit Medical Center (DMC), and
Straith Hospital for Special Surgery. He
is also on the teaching faculty at those
medical centers as well as an Assistant
Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at
Wayne State University.
Board Certified by the American
Board of Ophthalmology, Dr. Siegel
has a professional affiliation with the
American Academy of Ophthalmology,
American Glaucoma Society, the
Association for Research in Vision,
Michigan Ophthalmology Society, the
American Medical Association, and
both the Michigan State and Oakland
County Medical Societies. In addition
he is a Fellow of the American College
of Surgeons (F.A.C.S.).
Dr. Siegel has made numerous
presentations and written various
publications on the diagnosis,
treatment and surgical procedures
pertaining to glaucoma and cataract
related subjects. He has a particular
interest in combined cataract surgery
with glaucoma laser procedures (ECP)
as well as incorporating the newest lens
implant technology for his patients.
MARC J. SIEGEL, M.D., F.A.C.S.
Marc J. Siegel, M.D. is an
ophthalmologist who specializes in
the consultation and treatment
of glaucoma and cataracts.
A native Detroiter, Dr. Siegel
received both his Bachelor of Science
and M.D. from the University of
Michigan with High Honors.
He completed a general surgery
internship in Boston at Tufts New
England Medical Center. He served
his residency in ophthalmology at
Mt. Sinai Medical Center in New
York. Dr. Siegel then served as chief
resident and completed his glaucoma
fellowship training at Mt. Sinai as
well. He received the Heed
Foundation and Fight for Sight
Fellowship Awards in Glaucoma.
Currently, Dr. Siegel holds
privileges at William Beaumont
Hospital in Royal Oak, Eye Surgery
Center of Michigan affiliated with St.
John Hospital, Detroit Medical Center
(DMC), and Straith Hospital for
Special Surgery. He is also Assistant
Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology
at Wayne State University.
Board Certified by the American
Board of Ophthalmology, he includes
the American Academy of
Ophthalmology, the Association for
Research in Vision, the Michigan
Ophthalmology Society, the American
Medical Association and both the
Michigan State and Oakland County
Medical Societies on his growing list
of professional affiliations. In addition,
he is a Fellow of the American College
of Surgeons (F.A.C.S.).
Dr. Marc Siegel has had multiple
scientific publications and
presentations on topics relating to
glaucoma diagnosis and management.
He has a particular interest in complex
glaucoma and cataract surgical
problems as well as new, innovative
astigmatic and accommodating
implants for cataract surgery.
MATTHEW E. CITRON, D.O.
Matthew E. Citron, D.O. is an
ophthalmologist who specializes in
the consultation and treatment of
glaucoma and cataracts.
A long time Detroit area resident,
Dr. Citron received a B.A. in History
at University of Michigan. He then
achieved his Doctor of Osteopathic
Medicine degree from Michigan
State University’s College of
Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Citron
completed his internship in internal
medicine through MSU while serving
at Botsford General Hospital in
Farmington Hills, Michigan.
Following that, he served as
Co-Chief Resident in Ophthalmology
through MSU at the Detroit
Osteopathic Ophthalmology
Consortium in Detroit, Michigan.
He then went on to serve as a Clinical
Glaucoma Fellow at the Wayne State
University’s Kresge Eye Institute in
Detroit, Michigan.
Dr. Citron is an Associate Professor
of Ophthalmology at Michigan State
University. Prior to joining Glaucoma
Center of Michigan, he was with the
Wayne State University’s Kresge Eye
Institute as an Assistant Professor of
Ophthalmology and Local Residency
Program Director in the Sinai-Grace
Hospital facility.
He is currently on staff at William
Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Eye
Surgery Center of Michigan affiliated with
St. John Hospital, as well as holding
privileges at various Detroit Medical
Center (DMC) locations, Botsford in
Farmington Hills, and Straith Hospital for
Special Surgery.
Dr. Citron has professional affiliations
with the American Academy of
Ophthalmology, American Glaucoma
Society, American College of
Osteopathic Ophthalmology, American
Society of Cataract & Refractive
Surgery, American Osteopathic
Association, American Medical
Association and both the Michigan State
and Oakland County Medical Society.
