Dr. Faisal Ridha grew up in Cleveland, Ohio and graduated from the accelerated BS/MD program at Northeast Ohio Medical University. He then went on to perform his internship at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown, Ohio. From there, he went on to Ophthalmology residency at Howard University in Washington, D.C. where he served as Chief Resident. Following his residency, he completed his fellowship at Kresge Eye Institute in glaucoma and complex anterior segment pathology. After fellowship, Dr. Ridha spent three years as full-time faculty at the Kresge Eye Institute and served as the medical director of the midtown campus. There, he trained dozens of residents and fellows in cataract surgery and glaucoma. He has a special interest in mentorship for medical students and residents, and continues to teach at several of the local residency programs in the Detroit area. Dr. Ridha is an Assistant Professor at Wayne State University, and is on the medical staff of Detroit Medical Center, Ascension-St. John Hospital, and the John Dingell Detroit VA Hospital. Dr. Ridha is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, and is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) and American Glaucoma Society (AGS). He has numerous publications and presentations focusing on medical and surgical glaucoma management. His interests include laser and surgical treatments for glaucoma and cataracts, including the latest minimally invasive options in the field.
